This wine is the result of a new research program directed by Julio Saenz, our winemaker, and developed in the Ship Experimentation of the winery. In this project sees the light now we remain committed to basic principles: The "blend" means a mixture of varieties, the basis of our Tempranillo and Graciano wines, Rioja native variety that provides freshness and elegance to the wines. In addition and for the first time in our history, we have added a new value, aging in new French oak barrels, which allowed us to retain the liveliness, freshness and fruitiness of this vintage.
Vineyard Tempranillo (85%) from a selection of old vines Briñas and Villalba, conducted in glass on a clay loam soil, and 15% Graciano Melchorón vineyard, situated on a loamy Rodezno led double cordon.
Breeding The preparation was performed following the Bordeaux method for stemming and crushing, followed by a 9-day fermentation at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C.
